Summary: Tazkiyah is a private journal for daily spiritual reflection.
We do not operate servers that store your journal.
Your data stays on your device unless you choose to create an encrypted backup to a location you control.

Tazkiyah is published by MehdiApps. This policy describes how the Tazkiyah mobile app handles information.

Information stored on your device
When you use Tazkiyah, the following is stored locally on your phone or tablet:
- Daily intentions, vigilance logs, and nightly reflections
- Struggles and triggers you enable or add
- App settings (theme, reminders, tracking preferences, etc.)
- A PIN or app lock configuration (device secure storage)
- Optional biometric unlock (handled by your operating system)
This data is not sent to MehdiApps and is not uploaded automatically to our servers.
Optional encrypted backups
You may optionally enable encrypted backups. If you do:
- Backup files are encrypted with a password you choose (which may match your app PIN).
- You choose where backups are saved (device folder, a cloud folder you select, or Google Drive if you sign in for that feature).
- MehdiApps does not receive, access, or host your backup files.
Google Sign-In (optional)
If you use Google Drive backup, the app uses Google Sign-In only to access your Google Drive for encrypted backup files. The app uses the limited drive.file scope. Google’s privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.

What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data
- We do not use advertising networks in the app
- We do not collect analytics through MehdiApps-operated servers
- We do not require a MehdiApps account to use the app
Children
Tazkiyah is not directed at children under 13.
Data retention and deletion
- On device: Data remains until you delete it in the app, use “Erase local data” in Settings, or uninstall.
- Backups: Remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.
Security
The app supports PIN and optional biometrics. Backups are encrypted. You are responsible for keeping your PIN and backup password safe.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
